East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

Sorry about the tyres. I can't imagine anyone being jealous of you going to Disneyland, but what do I know?

I can't do Saturday. A front mech has just arrived which looks like it will give me reasonable clearance so all being well I plan to roll out the "big wheel" on Sunday if anyone can make it.

Had a great ride at the Pines last night. It's dry and swoopy at the moment but a little bit scary in the mist!

And the head hunting Deer......
did you scream like a girl again in the mist?

@Ed, sorry to hear about the tyres. Some people are just so bloody horrible!

@Phil, no dear, there were no deer. How are baby things?

Ticknall any good ?

Had this sent through. Interested? http://www.tonyaschallenge.co.uk/

I was going to mention that this week. Rode some of the route on Sunday afternoon by chance and saw a poster.

The 37 miler is quite a challenge, I did 1300ft of ascending in just 22 miles on my ride and I didn't descend into Southall and climb back out of that Valley.

It would certainly be a challenge. I have ridden Nottingham to Newark and back once (summer of 2009) but I took the flat Trent route and it was 42 miles...and if the wind is blowing the wrong way
