what Hammond on his bike showed was how annoying it is for cyclists to have to stop at every traffic light designed to control motor vehicle movement,
he would have got their a lot quicker than the others if the network he was using was designed for his mode of transport, which was the advantage of all the other modes of transport he was competing against,
