1990 Mountain Goat Deluxe, with love

Not sure i see the logic in having the tube profiles like that though?
lateral rigidity I assume? I love it. Reminds me of Explosifs that have ovalised tubing in the seat tube for torsional strength.

lush

just lush

Nice lips (on her mouth, obviously). Who was she?
Would be gutted if it turned out to be a man

I can understand the ovalisation at the BB stopping too much flex when cranking the pedals, but the ovalisation at the headtube should be vertical, shouldn't it, to stop too much vertical flex in the frame a bit like those lovely Max OR frames like Serotta et al. But I realise that this is a Mountain Goat style trait and is even more lovely for it!

your right - the dark is more traditional BJ lip shape where the light is smaller and less pronounced

Yep, I also remeber that paint job from the brochure. It looks stunning. I wish I could "stubble" across something like that.

IIRC they were about 1300 UKP or something at the time plus the paint. The Whiskeytown was about 1000 UKP.

The clue is in the name - deluxe ride from a compliance point of view due to the directional ovaliasation, plus a deluxe price tag!.
