How noticeable is riding a 44t to a 48t? (i've been running a 48t big ring for longer than I can remember, but it doesn't get a huge amount of use...)

(My Pace is 7-speed 12/28 and 26/36/48 )

I'd say a 44T feels a fair bit smaller. maybe check out a gear inches calculator?

For what it's worth 44t will feel much lower than 48t but if you're not using the big ring much is it because it is too big or you just don't need it for your riding?

Good question mate...Hmmm...well, it gets used if I am out on the road and there is a very long downhill that I fancy pedalling down, offroad I tend to pick my way round mountain tracks and woodland and only use granny and middle 95% of the time anway. I don't race, I don't DH or Jump....suppose I'm really a 'XC bimbler' kind of guy
