Chain-guide/Bash Ring options?

So, I have a SLX chainset and want to the ditch the inner and outer rings, fit a bash-guard in place of the outer and have a chain-guide to stop the chain dropping off.

Ideally I'd like this to not weigh more than the rings and mech it'll replace.

What is my best option? Seperate bash-ring and guide or all-in-one? Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Paul

polymer bashes can be awful light now (12g?!)
i run blackspire ds1 with bash (the one that comes with it)
think it was about £15 off pinkbike
i recommend it but unsure of weight

edit: you can also get the ones which sit 'over' and either side of the chainring
no need for a bash with one of them if you not going to bash it up

enids superstar one for example ;)

Superstar make a similar guide.

I found an outer bash (raceface) & n gear jump stop to be just effective.

Didn't really get on with my MRP 1X

gear jump stop?
do you mean a mech?

if he meant a mech, its certainly do able, just do it with the adjuster screws
i personally think it looks messy, but most definitely functional

what you suggested is good, i dont often see the point in the bottom roller (often redundant, not always though!)

will be expensive though
shop around

that will be lighter than the rings
was holding my guide just a second ago and i think it would be heavier than 2 rings by a little bit
i think the bash/guide setup looks neater too, all enclosed
personal preference
