I bought these off ebay, from googling the model (1999 Bomber Z1 Drop Off) I expected 130mm travel, but they seem to be a bit shorter than other pictures I've seen, probably only 100mm travel

I've heard they can be converted between 100 and 130mm, does anyone know if this is what I need:

If so, do we think it's a relatively straightforward job, or one best left to the experts?

ok
from what i remember they should be 130mm
but if you say 100 and 130 that wouldnt surprise me
it may just be a case of putting in a spacer but building up the courage to take forks apart took me ages
then i went and took apart my new new £350 forks! and they have play

but its a very simple process
im sure there are manuals about and im sure someone could help more than me
also, use the search function at the top

I think you'll need 130mm travel springs for a start.

Marzocchi's of that year are very easy to work on and as long as you keep track of how things have come apart they easily go back together.

You may as well change the oil whilst you're there 7.5w should be fine.

I've got a set of these forks already set at 130mm travel, but then again i have got 6 pairs of Marzocchi's from around the 1998-2000 era

I have never done this conversion though.
