For me Novekili's Merlin...
To me a great bike is one that is made by the rider to be ridden on a lot. This bike is all that and more!

Tough call - love Anni Fat, Manitou FS and Mantis but when thinking 'Which of these I'd want to own the most?' the choice went to MERLIN ELEVATOR.

All wonderful old bikes but in the end it was sinnermans' Lloyd for me.

Also really liked the Saracen - that just looks fast! Also have a soft spot for the HT merlins, timeless bikes I think and two very nice examples.

Not sure what bike you are talking about, because there are 2 of them with that 'cardinal sin'. Both using Magura's!

Anyhow, my 'cardinal sin' was corrected just after the pics!

Welcome back to the fold brother stumpjumper, your sins are forgiven. Alas the path to Retrorighteousness is not a smooth one and there are plenty of serpents lining the way to lure you off the straight and narrow. Now that the scales have fallen from your eyes a second look will show that there are indeed others that bear the mark of the redundant hanger and V brakes

some of the photo's themselves did the bikes justice.

Don't think that my KHS has committed any of those cardinal sins, but still no votes, oh well maybe next time eh!

As usual I always vote but never say who I voted for

My rules for voting are which bike looks right to me & which one I'd like to own & ride to within an inch of it's life.

Pfffffffffft can't decide yet, need to mull it for 24h - the cardinal sin criteria you adopt is messing with my mind, I wish you hadn't said it, now it's going to be the first thing I look for

It is interesting seeing people's criteria - for some it's the bike, for some it's the build thread, for some it's the picture, for some it's their friend - whatever the reason, at least get your vote in on time!
