Done a cheeky cross-Atlantic deal on this little baby. Early 90's Parkpre Catalyst in splatter flouro. Parkpres first MTB models were Catalyst, Hammer and the Sledge Hammer. The latter is the Holy Grail of Parkpres. They all shared the same Tange DB frame just had different groupsets. It's going to be a little beauty. This will probably be the only very early Parkpre outside the USA 8)

find yourself a Tioga 1" stem, you can use the alu parts to make your stem much lighter.

There is a plan. Going to keep it faithful to the original spec, not a replica, just built in the same style as the original with components that I can get.

Ritchey Alfa-bite / Omega-bite tanwalls
OE seatpost silver (as long as it cleans up OK) or Black Kalloy copy. Need to check size first. I think it will be 26.6mm.
Avocet saddle
DX front & rear mechs
DX cranks - biopace rings (my knees are hurting already)
Hot Pink cables!

The frame is curently stuck in a snow storm in the US, the owner lives in a very remote part and is snowed in for a few days. Hopefully it will start moving my way soon.

Have been trying to find some information on this model. Nothing around apart from the 1991 Hammer review I already have on my webite. Have emailed Ken Yamakoshi (son of the Parkpre USA founder) to see if he knows any more.

This is an advert for the Hammer model which I am using as inspiration.

Sorted the wheels out tonight. LX M550 silver hubs on Araya RM20 silver rims. Serviced the hubs and freewheel, retensioned and trued the wheels. Looking good. Just need a bit of patina removal to get the up to standard.

I love splash paint jobs on bikes. The great thing about them is if you ever get chips in the paint just match the color of the splash and touch up. Nobody will ever know.
