Is it you say this because you think old parts are not up to the task of everyday use, or is it because you think new should be disposible and old preserved for the upcoming generations?
 
I think the static parts (stem, seatpost, disc wheels, etc) could be old, but the derailleurs, cogs, chain, pedals are worn in the houndreds/thousands of kilometres if this is your mean bike.

Yes, of course it is a bit pity to wear out old parts, but the old stuff deffo lasts way longer. My chain and cogs on my TrailRunner are the same since 1995. It isn't my only bike so wear is spread out over various bikes, but I can be sure that they did thousands of miles. I am planning replacement for 2007 :mrgreen:

I like the clear coat theme on your first bike. Very nice to see the craftmanship.

What bar on the last bike? I doubt Moustache or Jones, but what is it?
