Zaskar and Zaskar LE - whats the difference!?

thanks guys, does that just mean lighter and stronger then?

is there anyway to tell the frames apart by looking at them?

cheers

Errrmm....

Deffo lighter, not so sure about stronger though.

Both the Zaskar & LE are pretty bullet proof though.

As far as telling them apart, it's going to be a frame number thing I think, It's been a long time since I've owned one and I never really had to think about it.

Don't know what the frame No. differences are, but others will. I think it may have something to do with year codes, but don't quote me. :?

When I brought my Zaskar LE frame new in 1996 I remember the chap selling it in the bike shop telling me some story about how the Zaskar LE being actually assembled and welded by hand and the production Zaskar being built with less care and attention with more automated processes.

MBA did an aluminium bike test in about 91 & the zasker was featured.
in the early days the LE was built in the states & standard in taiwan... although they add that the taiwan model had cleaner welds.

i've always thought of the zasker as the UK forerunner of the "jump bike" long before spooky & BMW really took off with jumpbikes :)

T'is certainly true that the earlier LE frames were hand made in the USA.

Mine ever had a ticket with the guys name on it as I remember.
