Jason McRoy's Salsa ala carte

As a final little note for today, i also found a small ding in the downtube beside the bottom bracket. It is under the current paint which shows no sign of damage therefore i conlude that this was done by the great man himself. My feelings are that the ding should not be repaired- it is part of the bikes story. It would be easy enough to fill it with a little silver. How does the collective feel about it? Leave be or repair?

If there's no structural reason to fix the dink, let it live - but get pictures of it before stripping to keep the historical link.

leave it,if its part of the history ;)

your doing a sterling job, watching with uber amounts of interest

si ,why powder coat rather than wet paint ?
future longevity ?
was it painted origonaly or powdered

Original finish was white powder, followed by handpainted Jelly Beans before clear laquer. Thats they way we will be going on the resto. I like powders toughness. Wet paint on top gives a geat shine too so you get best of both.

Another predictable vote for leaving the dink :)

Absolutely loving the commentary too, thanks Si, sterling job!

Am loving this thread. Great work guys!

Another vote for leaving the ding as is...
