Bontrager Privateer Comp 1998, Now Single Speed!

Oh yeah, I had some additional things that also will change.
This rasta Chris King headset for instance.

This will really fit nicely I think.

OK, time for some updates of my privateer :)

After thinking long about it it will become a SS

This means I´ll have to get into shape, pronto!
But it will be real fun I think.
This bike will also be colormatched a bit more than my other bonty.

But here´s the crank. It will be more SS specific in the future, but I think this will be a good start to all this.
I´m thinking homebrewed later on, anyone used them?
Crank´s a stock xt M737, and I´ll use the 32T ring for starters.

Watch this space...

Here´s some color for a rasta rig

I got brand new salsa flip offs that look just gorgeous!
Thanks keepitsteel!
So now I´ve got a rasta bike, rasta headset and rasta skewers.

Next in line would be a tensioner, I´ve picked dmr, and a green one. It could work with red as well, but I think I´d like green

O yeah, here´s a pic..

Take care

I like the HBC stuff, I have a couple of Dan's chainrings - here's a photograph of a 32T Middleburn spline version.
Fairly long lead times, so if you want one in future, then I'd get it ordered now as you'll probably have to wait a couple of months for it.

In the meantime, I'd get a SS specific chainring rather than use that ramped one. And a KMC Z610HX chain.....

Surely with those Bontrager dropouts you'll have enough adjustment to do without one of those fugly tensioners and just use a chain tug on the drive side?
You might need a half-link in the chain (Gusset slink, if you do ;)) but that's no big deal.

AndyR:
I don´t have horisontal dropouts on the privateer.
I´ve gathered though that many seem to find the magic gear with bontys either way.

Yeah, the homebrewed looks really sweet. I´ll try it like this for starters though, just wanna see how it feels. Almost can´t wait

Thanx a lot for the feedback, really helps me out :)
