Jason McRoy's Salsa ala carte

salsa

Heres some more pics inc. some from mbuk. The frame is different, the salsa decal is red in some and yellow in others. Also there is a sponsor sticker on the seat tube?

Any ideas

Thanks for the info. , looking forward to the build.

I will post pics of the bits I have when I get some day light.

I think the article you are on about is already on this site under jez's salsa rebuild thread, it shows black cqp cranks with and egg ring.

But if you look at the photos of jmc racing it looks like a cooks crank with cooks writing in silver.

Any chance you could scan the articles and post them here and email them to me.

Don't have a scanner but can photocopy you a set if you want? The article is the same as the one above and talks more about the riders then the bikes.

I did wonder who ended up with this. I was trying to do a deal on the bike with the seller but found him difficult to work with. He also has Sophies old bike- do you know where it is now?

The whereabouts of the FSR has been discussed on Retrobike in the past and there are photos too. It is still safe and sound here in the North East and is so original it atill carries the dirt from the last time it was riden.

RB member got it Si...? or still with Family?

The FSR is with a friend of Jason's. There it will stay too before you ask. ;)

Did anyone notice that Sophie Brookes joined retrobike yesterday?

Hi!

The sticker on the seat tube is a 'Denton' sticker, as in Denton Cycles, a bike shop in Newcastle upon Tyne :)

Cheers

Sadly, very much an ex-bike shop nowadays.

FWIW I used to know the late Colin Davidson of Denton Cycles, he did some work on my bike and I have similar sticker on the seatpost if you want that copying for true detail.

I thought I better keep you all updated. All the info is much appreciated and needed.

A copy of the denton decal would be good, in later pics this seems to have been dropped and a "jason McRoy" decal added to the top tube.

Dr S has offered to repaint the frame which is brilliant, his builds are perfect. So the frame is stripped and winging its way to him. He needs as many pics as can be found as he is going to try and match up as many of the jelly beans as possible, all the paint jobs were random so he got his work cut out.

Had a bit of time to take some pics of what I have for the build.

Mags 20 are 7/10 but the gold does quite match, will get these repainted and look around for a better pair. We_are_stevo donated the correct steerer. Still not sure wether these are correct or early mag21's were used.

Disc drive is excellent, but may have to look at the rim as it may not be correct.

Salsa stem is 10/10.

NOS ritchey logic headset, salsas were built with these.

Graftons are 8/10.

Nukeproof front hub is 7/10 but has the wrong decal. There is one on eaby at the moment but no UK shipping.

Cooks cranks are 9/10 but they have the wrong spider, I will swop with someone for the correct cranks (black arms/silver spider/silver cooks bros etch ) if possible. The mbuk pics and race pics show different cranks, I'm going with these with writing on them but need a pair with the holey spider.

xt11 thumbs are 8/10

xt11 are 5/10 but have boots, but I do know where there is a NOS pair still in the box.

Porc on the rear is one of the reproductions but I and bidding on the specialised NOS tyres in germany at the moment, see how i get on.

Still need:

Early salsa skewers in black ( no salsa etch)

Bars

Seat post - USE ti

Flite ti

Mech's ???? xt front and rear I'm guessing

Rims?????

Any ideas
