Here's a scan of the Wheeler USA ad from the August '92 edition of MBA

The advert indicates the Wheeler softails being ridden are 'handbuilt in Steamboat Colorado'. IIRC isn't this where Moots are based? Seems unlikely to be a coincidence...

thats interesting--you happen to have any other wheeler info, scans, etc?? i have a 93 wheeler 3800 w/ the easton program varilite frame, id love more info on. i always thought they were a big taiwan co. but now i learn they were german?? thanx

That's the only wheeler info I have. They were never brought into the UK. Maybe some of the continental members on the board can help you out..

We had/have them in Sweden. They are considered to have the same status here as Huffy has in the USA.

Thing is, Wheeler had a pretty wide range of bikes from low-end to almost stratospheric. They had well-speced bikes in their line-up.
