Congrats for such a singleminded effort. Here is another resource
with a lot of overlap, but also a comprehensive effort at cataloging every bike test. This index includes brochures and interviews as well as bike tests.
One test which did not make his list is my handy "Universal Bike Review,"
which can be applied to any cycling machinery.
I picked up another file cabinet recently -- that makes seven -- which combined with a slow afternoon led to a jag of magazine sorting. The pile of storage boxes yet to be opened is at least equal to what is already sorted and filed.
I have every issue of MBA from the first until about 1995.
Every issue of Mountain Bike for the Adventure
Every issue of Fat Tire Flyer (which did not publish bike reviews)
Every issue of Dirt Rag.
Every issue of Bicycling Plus Mountain Bike.
Most issues of Bicycling from late seventies to mid nineties.
I also have virtually every article published on the subject of mountain biking from the first in 1978 to some time in the '80s when it became impossible to keep up and to sort and store it all.
Next project is sorting the UK stuff, since I know I have complete early collections of BMX/Action Bike, Mountain Biking UK and Mountain Biker, but they are piled in storage boxes awaiting my attention and the acquisition of the next file cabinet. I also have the American Mountain Biking, but they have yet to be sorted also.
The German magazine Bike is very detailed, and I have at least the first five years, plus collections of the Italian Tutto MTB, the two French mags VTT and VeloVert. All these await a rainy afternoon.
Anyone looking to spend a few days helping me sort and scan my library? I would take you for a ride afterward.
Here are a few covers from my collection.
