This ad appeared in Action Bike in 1984. It seems to advertise the first MTB races in England.
I may be wrong, but the rider in the photo is wearing a Mantis t-shirt and a Bell helmet and looks a lot like Tinker Juarez, which would mean the photo is from a US race.
Certainly not in the UK. I wish it was like that over here
