Ahh, Ridgebacks, whatever happened to you after 1989??

A kid at school had the 602 LX, one of the first proper mountain bikes i'd ever seen...all just plain gorgeous...

woohoo!

my first bike was the 89' 602lx...

recently i have got hold of;

a 603 frame & fork 18"

and complete fully original 602lx!!! but i was a 22" frame :(

this, of course had the mountain LX groupo (unique for that year!!??)

which i will stick on the 603 frame :D

which would be a shame because makes my part-NOS XT groupo redundant!

pics. very soon.. i love ridgebacks!!!

Ah man, that 602LX was The Schnutts!!

Direct competition for Saracen Tufftrax, which a mate of mine bought instead.. I used to drool over the Freewheel Catalogue..

Thanks so much for the scans..So cool remembering what I used to wish for.. 18 years ago :shock: :shock: :shock:

Oh wow. I had the 600 STI up there. My first MTB too. Friend had the white splatter 602 LX and it was much nicer. Still I thrashed it around for years. Many fond memories

Me too. :D Fantastic scans RBG
Anyone got pics/scans from the following year? My mate had the 704XT that he brought from a freewheel sell-out day for £10. The rear stays had been crushed but he managed to get 'em straighted and rode it for many years afterwards. Really like them old ridgebacks 8)

cheers,
boy"O"boy
