Recommend me a Hardtail with IS Mounts...

Having owned my Orange Patriot for a few years now i think i've got 'Full Suspension' out of my system.

I'll soon be selling the frame and looking to get an Alluminium (or Ti??) Hardtail again.

The Patriot has a few parts that must be transferable to the new frame:

- Rock Shox Duke XC U-Turns (upto 110mm) 1 1/8" Threadless

- Mavic XC717 Disc Rims on Hope XC Hubs

- Hope Mono Mini's 160/180mm (IS Mount)

I was looking at a GT Zasker:

But am open to suggestions.

Truth be told i'd really like another Orange, but the newest Orange bikes just don't do it for me anymore :(

Had good experience with Setavento if you fancy a 'budget' Ti frame. Have you seen the new clockworks BTW? quite pricey though.

Oooh, look for a Vitamin T!

Failing that, a polished E3 or something.

How far back did Orange fit IS mounts?

I actually fancy a P7. The current ones are optimised for 140mm which seems like a strange decision for a steel bike. I'd like one of the older 100mm geometry frames - not easy to find though. Perhaps the new Clockwork is the spiritual successor to the 'old' P7?

They've ditched the wishbone Seat Stays from the Evo frame too. I'm starting to think Orange are losing their way...
