measuring bolts help!!

trying to buy some titanium bolts for my ti frame

how do i know what m number to get??? also are bolts generally measured in overall length or just the threaded length?

As i understand it. if a 4mm bolt then it's an M4 and so on. Can't help on the length question for certain

My understanding is a bit vague too... but I think :

M6 x10 would be a 6mm bolt by 10mm long.. ?

and so on.

Close Tintin. Bottle cage bolts are M5 and take a 4mm allen key.

As a rough guide I use this site for bolt sizes. Just measure the exsisting bolts and compare them.

Also a nice cheap place for spare steal allen bolts.

Length is measured from under the head of bolt or screw, not overall length.

You measure the length, and diameter, of the threaded part.
