im about to buy some disc brake pads but cant find much info on what compound i need (semi metallic(sintered) or organic). does anyone know the difference, the information i find contradicts itself!

Sintered are best for this time of year, anything else will disappear at the first sign of mud

yes, i guessed as much. will get them then with the rainand all that. chees for your help. sintered is the same as semi metallic right? i should know this one really

I use Shimano discs and they offer Metallic and Resin pads. The Resin pads are softer and go away in the rain and mud. The Metallic's are harder and work well all year and last longer, too. They do squeal when wet, sometimes, but that is the only downside I see, so I use them all year long.

well i bought some alligator semi metallics as i cant afford oem ones. i read semi metallics the inbetween ones, between sintered and resin. thanks for your help
