I had it a couple of years ago, not alot you can do about the pain, I ate ibuprofen like smarties which helped a fair bit. My main advice would be to take it very easy even when you're feeling better, you'll be surprised how it knocks the stuffing out of you, my energy levels were fooked for a while, get well soon though mate!

I suffered it a few years back (6years ago)
Sounds the same as you, infection along the opthalmic nerve.
I sat in the house for 2 weeks with the curtains drawn shut.
Daylight felt like it was blinding me!!
I sympathise with you dude, its the closest I have ever come to wishing I was dead!!
(dont touch the scabs, i have massive scarring on my forehead from it
