Have a few items of oldish (guessing 80s) car audio stuff. Obv pretty decent in its day. Is there a market for this sort of stuff? Or hsould I just chuck it on the 'bay?

it depends what it is , get a pic up :D :D

i have a couple of ford mk1 escort sterios in mint working condition and a capri tape player thats mint too.... wonder if their worth anything ?

good afternoon gentlemen...

pics and I'll tell you.

Ford radios are seasonal, they go up in price when the shows start.

Some stuff is worth real money, espesh if associated with VW campers, Porsche, early Mercedes.

Early Pioneer KE, KEX, KP, Component and the early silver CD players are fetching strong prices lately.

certain Radiomobile models are sought after. as with certain models of Sharp R/C that were OEM for MGB GTs

I've got over 50 radio cassette of the 2 knob kind ranging from valve to US market) stuff.

Remember - condition is everything, mint/ boxed is best but theres still alot of good stuff in lofts and garages. These things cost £300 £400 in their day making it a big investment which people are loath to part with regardless of whether it will fit their new Vectra

I've been umming and aaaing (if that's the way to type that saying  ) about the stereo in my Capri, at the moment it's got the standard (non working) radio filling the hole in the dash, in two minds whether to replace this with a period radio cassette or hide a modern CD player in the glove box ?, need to cut the dash to fit a modern unit in place of the original which i dont want to do.

So used to CD's now though that i'd probably think the cassette was sh*te, and most of my cassettes are so old they'd probably get chewed anyway (Curiosity killed the cat anyone  )

From what i've seen there is a demand for them though, as LGF says, good money for a good working period item.

Love the look of older head units, some of those you have LGF are lush.

Always like the early Pioneers, metal buttons, knobs, dials, equalisers with the green lights and brushed aluminium facias :D
