On recent mag of WMB, July'09, the top trails of UK is:

Fort Williams
Lake District
Coast to Coast (Whitehaven to Tynemouth)
Glentress
South Downs
Snowdon
Afan/Cwmcarn
Jacob's Ladder
Coed y Brenin

The best trails I have done is Afan, brilliant trails and a selection of choices too, I enjoyed the 'Skyline' trail, it's 29 miles with a mixture of everything and awesome views, my pb is 3h:50m and hope to beat that next time when I go there on my new bike, mmm must get there soon before winter set in.

2 of my current favourite rides.

Thetford Forest......a lot is man made, but loads of good fast rolling singletrack.

MrK's Peaks loop.....natural, natural, natural trails, some testing areas, great fun.

The stretch of singletrack round the far end Chicksands Woods, flat out in the dark :D

personally the long downhill section of moorland from crapstone in dartmoor back towards plymouth ;) locals only.........................but probobly aint there now, been over 14 years since i last rode it

and a section along ridge walk in scunny

trail centre wise i highly rate dalby and clipstone

.....spent four hours burning up and down the long mynd yesterday.......just great and some stonking views.....
