Yeh was pretty good fun.

It did kick you back in the seat somewhat.

This was bday present and not the colonic irrigation which I was *promised* earlier in August.

Look its meeee!!!

The codriver was a cock though. Useless and not very helpful in the slightest.

The intercomm system was buggered so I couldnt hear him (the cable had pretty much been sucked into the supercharger earlier in the day and was cacked) and he wasnt the most friendly of people.

Its a good job I got my moneys worth and er..manhandled it a bit.

Anyone else driven one?

I am pleased to say that i have been fortunate enough to drive some nice cars in the past. I used to race Caterhams amongst other cars such as Ginettas and Formula Fords, my dad owned a Car Dealership Group and had a team which he before me used to race with. Last thing i raced was in the Cosworth Caterham Masters which i did well in but we got hit hard part though last year and again this year due to financial reasons. With some time off i did a couple of one off races, in a Honda Integra DC5 and in an Aerial Atom 3 which was a stock car with aero mods and racing slicks as you would expect. It was as close to the CSR260 Caterham as you can get. The only thing for racing that i have driven better was the Radical SR3 and actually a Palmersport JP1track car which i subbed for a friend for a day. That car sounded the best of all i have raced!!!!!

Suddenly i have gone all moist again. Thsi happens every time i race or think about it.

Yep - did something similar earlier in the year - also got to drive a Ferrari Spider (360 with flappy paddles) on the same day.

Atom was ace - mega acceleration, any gear any speed - dunno how fast I went, no time to faff with looking at the instruments properly - just watch the shifts lights under the screen and grab the next gear.

Ferrari something of a disappointment - yes it' quite quick, handles pretty well and makes a nice noise, but it didn't feel particularly special. Interior wasn't really any better than a high spec family saloon, the steering wheel is not straight in front of the driver, picky? yes, but if you're going to blow that much money on a car, getting steering wheel in the right place shouldn't be that hard these days.

Sadly don't get to play with the good toys at work no more - happy days on the test track in R32 Skyline, proper M3, Integrale 16v Evo, Cossies - Sierra, Escort & 190E 23.16.

Never driven an Atom. They look fun though. Can't beat a small light car with a good engine up its backside- especially on slicks. Drove a Lola T290 last year and despite it being best part of 30 years old I could not believe just how good it was.

I've been driven in a McLaren F1 road car - just about the most spine shortening thing I've ever done....

A former friend was given a ride in a Bugatti Veron around Paris, the guy scraped an alloy - £30,000 to replace it, alleggededdedllly

try sitting in the original ford gt 40.......you need an s shaped spine to sit in that .....sat in one in norwich about ten years ago...it went for over a million if i recall.the lambo next to it was up for 200 gees.(this was when dim wits were spending dumb amounts on cars like the jag xj 220 if i remember corectly) i love the atom ..i seem to remember it beat the caterham on the top gear track a few seasons ago..had a civic type r engine...lovely...although i would probably have that 3 wheeled thing from holland that rode like a moterbike and tilted and stuff...very shiny.

360's are pussy! I took one round Doni and wasn't that impressed. I've a mate who's got a 550bhp saph that he trackdays. Full slicks and some mega stopping power. To date I don't think I've been in something so quick. Although as a kid Antony Reid took me round doni in an xr2 dodging workmans van etc. Bet the atom was mad? It's the closeness of the elements I guess... And that it's fooookin quick!!
