The new Sturmey S3X

Old School Grand Master
3 speed fixed gear hub is going to be available soon.
I've always avoided fixed, but I might build one into a wheel for my Clubman and give it a go. There's so few of the original parts on it now, I can't see it doing any harm.
Anyone else tempted?

You can do it on the cheap and convert one of the old SA 3 speed hubs into a fixed, there's a bit about it on Sheldon Brown. I keep meaning to give it a go. You could also spend a fortune on the original 2 speed fixed hub from way back when,

That's the other way, I guess, but the link starts with "If you are very handy", which rather put me off.
And the money the original one changes hands for horrifies me. I don't think I'm safe around rare original parts.
Still, I've got that AW hub that noone wants to buy, so maybe.
Cantis in the post in the morning.

if its affordable id be up for it . ive been wanting to knock together something in a 50s style to do the local 10tt for a while . fixed or single speed wouldnt be ideal as its flat so very windy so this could be a goer

I haven't the tools or the ready supply of AW hubs to make one of those.
Apparently, according to Google it will be £130 with all the necessary fittings.
