Can anyone recommend a decent pair of truly waterproof trousers? I tend to use a lightweight goretex mountain jacket which is fine, but have yet to find an effective pair of pants suitable for cycling in heavy rain, not that I choose to cycle in heavy rain that often. :D

You have to buy them from abroad, and they are quite fragile, but I like Frogg Toggs.
They're slightly too waterproof, not breathable enough, but then isn't everything? Most waterproof trousers aren't breathable at all, IME.

I have 2 pairs :

First is a pair of Gore , gore tex cycling trousers , ok but a bit heavy .

Second pair are Triple point lower alpine trousers , normally used wear on top of other clothes . I just wear them on their own . they are brilliant . but were very expensive .

Get something breathable
Some say they arent that breathable but when i wear non breathable over jeans the jeans become damp ,not wet but just a bit damp, when i put gore over the same jeans they dont get damp,so they do seem work to some extent :D
