A Butter Epiphany

Just sat down to eat credit crunch* lunch of beans on toast.

Only spread in the work fridge is Flora. It's horrible. Like eating plastic spread across (previously) nice sourdough bread. It evens shines like the bread's got aa layer of yellow cling film over it.

Has made me realise there are two kinds of people in this world...

a) those that like butter.

b) those that will be imprisoned when the revolution comes.

*(for credit crunch - read, bought a Yeti - can't afford to eat)

Ok so butter is great, especially salted, but marg. spreads from the fridge and there is a lot to be said for that over a rushed breakfast.

that lovely butter you get in France (and Waitrose) with crystals of salt in it...mmmmmm!

Doesn't get much better than fresh granary, salted butter, cold and fresh, and thick set honey...IMO...(which is right by the way - unless you fancy cell block H, when i bring in the changes.)

I'd rather spread axle grease on my toast than Flora.

Channel island butter has a good price/taste ratio.

Butter.

Kept on the side, in the shade, in a butter dish. The perfect temperature for spreading, always ready for action on toast or vegetables.

Lovely.

Except out here, where it melts sharpish, so you have to keep it in the wine cabinet.

If they don't like butter, There should be no waiting for the revolution, line them up on the wall now. (Feeling very moderate on my views today)
