Does anybody else in here feel the way i do......

Does anybody here still wrap a pipecleaner around their hubs to keep them clean? :?
I think there also was shop bought ones about too,much like little dog collars[but without the tag

]

I haven't seen a bike with a pipecleaner round the hub since I was a kid.
Does it work?

Last time I had a cleaner around my hubs was way back on my Raleigh grifter.

The incredible thing is it works really well
You would think it would get dirty then stay that way and start grinding away

,but the rain seems to keep it clean
That one was on the bike 4 years when i took the pic,yet it still looks pretty clean.
I havent fitted them to my latest bike as ive none and keep forgetting to buy them,but they had a place on all my others

Try it for a couple of months and see what you think

i've always just used a peice of string .

not something you see every day

same as lorries with old rags tied to the mirrors
