Ok, it goes a little something like this, im building up a play bike with mucho travel and ive just got hold of a set of Manitou stance dual crown forks but they are missing the 20mm bolt in axle.
This is all new to me so forgive me if its stupid! Cant I just get a piece of 2mm walled steel tubing with an OD of 20mm and cut it to the correct length and use that cause i cant seem to find the exact one i need online and the ones that I have found all cost ridiculous amounts of money for what is just a piece of pipe!
Cheers, J

Even a White Bros UD 150 uses an aluminium axle. I haven't come across a 20mm axle made of steel so far, definitely not with Fox, White or DT/Pace.

cool, thanks guys. Was going with steel as its cheaper and dare i say it stronger? not bothered about the weight. Thought of a potential problem though, arent some of these axles stepped so there thinner where the fork clamps them?

My Marz 66s are steel ,My RS pikes Maxle were steel and I'm pretty sure my Fox 36's were steel . ;)
