service pack 3 was the best thing i ever did , of course it ruined the operating system so i couldnt boot but it gave me an excuse to go to linux

it tried to upgrade drivers for a processor i didnt have :roll: cheers microwank

are you sure its not a virus ? whenever windose asks you to do something its a virus

I've used Linux quite a lot before. May switch this to dual boot

It's been out a while, I've done 30 or 40 without any issues (corporate environment), I would !

Exactly the same happened to me. Installed SP3, pooter wouldn't boot. I'm now running Xubuntu and my computer works.

Should I install XP service pack 3?
