thought I would just nip a new headset on my daughters bike....and it would be finished....but no.
Can I get the crown race on the forks...can I *$c@
The internal diameter of the race is about .75mm smaller than the fork shim thing...is this about normal?
Never had this amount of grief putting on a race before :x
Cheers
Carl

I come across this problem fairly regularly on lower end/kids bikes. I think that the manufacturers must use a worn out tool to cut the crown race seating.

Just get a file and go around it a bit at a time checking the fit until it goes on. If you accidentally file it too small there's always the coke can fix.
