so i can add them to post's etc.

i got a program but ask for pixel sizes? and no idea what that means into relation off only allowing 256kb image?

It's free and does a good basic job, but until you resize you won't know how big the file is - you just have to experiment.

or for a really basic one that's quite useful try this: http://imgresizer.sourceforge.net/

go to downloads to install it

you'll find most images 640X480 which are ideal for posts are less than 256k.
