Anyone got any experience of these? Do you get much wetter than with proper full length muddies?

They do the job OK but full length ones will always be better. That said these are meant for bikes where full length guards won't fit. They can be a bit fiddly to fit as they have to be at the right position on the stays.
If you're not going to remove them then use zip ties to attach them as they're much more secure, otherwise the rubber bands are OK for occasional use.

AC, the race blades are ok if full guards are not possible but Halfords and SJS Cycles do cheaper alternatives. Zip ties are also better if long term secure fitting is your desire.
