Right, text contact made.

He has been in the South of Frace for a few weeks, so has apologised and assures me that all items will be posted out next week.

Please can everyone post to this thread upon receipt of goods so we know that all is sorted.

Thanks

Just an idea, and perhaps I should introduce this in its own thread. But..

Would it be worthwhile having a "known traders" list, where the admin has a sticky thread listing names of users who have provided the admin with contact details such as home addy & phone number. This detail shouldn't be made public, but would provide a prospective buyer with the reassurance that the user is contactable by site staff if needs be.

The admin could verify the user by calling them on the provided number.

Just a thought and probably not needed as very few of these sales hickups turn out to be malicious .

sounds like a good idea - just some extra insurance for potential buyers. I'd be happy to provide my details to John for this purpose. The only risk is false details being given?

If the admins were to verify by phoning/texting your atleast sure the phone numbers correct. Could also make it more complex, detailing past trades where items have been sent to your address as proof that you have at least some connection with it, however thats probably going a little far.

Most trades work out well as it is, I have certainly never been stung on here (touches wood fast....not that sort of wood you filthy minded gits...)

I'm the guy that bought the Marin from Fenton. Paid almost 3 weeks ago now (09/04)

After several text messages and attempted phone calls trying to contact him, I received a text last Monday saying the same thing as above, and assuring me that the bike would be shipped within the next two days.. then when it came to Wednesday and I text him asking if there was any word I didnt get a response.

I'd like to hope hes just busy but it doesnt take long to reply to a text message to keep someone up to date. Especially when they've paid £360.
