Completely off topic but needing a rant.......

Went for a wander at lunchtime and purchased a jacket in the sale from H&M.

Took the jacket to the counter to pay and the deduction needed to be entered manually. £39.99 down to £15.

Anyway five minutes and a short session on the calculator I'm asked is £24 correct.

I was nothing but polite but really............

I would think she may have been schooled in the same environment as many of our bankers

Rant over.

should have said £10
That's wrong as well, she was trying to work out the discount to be applied. If she only took off £10 then the jacket would've been £29.99, not, as stated, down to £15

Keep up at the back.

There's a reason that we shop workers are not maths professors, you know.

I really hope this is tongue in cheek: you don't need to be a maths professor to subtract 15 from 39.99. You need to be about 7 years old.

My parents went into a shop and attempted to buy 4 items at 60p each and another at £1.30.

Shop assistant had to reach for a calculator and still came up with the wrong answer

I'm amazed, its just basic arithmetic not quadratic inequations !!!!!

You found a member of staff in H&M that spoke english?

Went in one at christmas and asked a girl something, she wandered off and tugged the sleeve of someone else. Apparently her job was to wander around the shop putting things back on hangers, so no lingo required.
