Please. Which way do I turn the 8 mm allen key? As I can't re-move the cranks. And I'm damaging the 'cap' that the allen key goes in. :(

If you've not got the right tool, you're stuck. You probably didn't get the tool if your chainset came on an assembled bike. OTC sold models get the tool included.

Thanks. I have the correct tools. But for some reason I have two different plans and they say different directions for the allen key. So I think I have tightened them up so much that neither me or my local shop can undo :shock: :cry:

Try spraying with some 'plusGas' and leave overnight.

Then get longest allenkey you can make (use any extension) and it'll come undone.

And make sure the Allen key is fully in the hex "hole" Tap it in with a hammer if necessary :D
