what are the biggest 700c tyres about? just building up a rat bike orbea and the tyre clearences are huge!

just need to watch it with the ballooning viz your rim width

If you want retro Panaracer did some Smokes in 700 x 45, seem to recall diamond back had them on a hybrid bike BITD

Continental Travel Contact are quite big (37mm). They've got some side nobbles on as well so OK for a bit of off-road in the dry.

www.bikeplus.co.uk are advertising them for £42 a pair.

Also Schwalbe Marathon (available in 40mm) 2 for £30.
