so, it was agreed over a curry last night that we'd go out for a decent ride today, me, matt(king salsa), adam and steve.
we met up at 12.30 in lyndhurst, in the new forest by the meridian garage, it was cold but not really bad.
i was on the aluminium O (first ride and test ride in one!
) matt was on his brand spanking new mount vision, adam was riding my ST4, and steve had his kinesis cross bike, super blinged dura ace and carbon, today was its first propper mud fest aswel!
we had a quick sniff at the poncy cars and off we went taking the trails out of lyndhurst, within a couple of miles steve's superlight tyres and tubes had punctured . . . :x . . . . matt played about pulling wheelies while steve replaced the tube . . . then within a mile steve punctured again :x :evil: :x bloody superlight stuff!!! off we go again in the direction of Burley, the pace was pitifully slow, due to alot of things, curry ringpiece, lack of fitness, blocks of ice for feet, and that wet sloppy ground that just stops you from getting any speed and sapping all your energy!!
after a while we came across snow, we had thought it had all gone from down here in the south but there it was as white as our bikes!!
we picked up the disused railway out of Burley heading back towards brockenhurst, it was that very wet watery type of mud that doesn't cause the bikes any problems but gets everywhere, ears, eyes and mouth!! it didn't taste good, think there was a hint of cow piss in it!!!
the ride did seem to drag on, we'd usually get it done in around 2 hours but finally we got back to lyndhurst at 4.06pm!!!!! about 3 and a bit hours!!! what the fudge were we doing all that time??!! :shock: i'm not even going to tell you the milage, it's just to embarrasing!!
