in the early 90s a few front mech came in 30.0 .

get a 31.8 mm and make a shim with a coke can , bit of inner tube etc...

WTF..?

28.6 is the size according to the DMR website...

http://www.dmrbikes.com/res/staticPages/geo_trailstar.html

to confirm go here and click on geometry..
http://www.dmrbikes.com/?Section=products&pageType=item&category=7&CategoryName=Frames&itemid=FRMTS07

although it seems to suggest that you need a 30.0 seat clamp.. god know where you'd get one of those from... DMR themselves I hope??

The XT one comes with a shim to fit any bike. My 08 Orange Prestige has got a 28.6 seat tube with a shimmed XT mech on it. You'll be fine! :D

   yeh my bad... i guess i missed that, i blame the drinking   i just presumed that the size would be the same for the seatclamp and the mech  the XT mech i bought covers that size so i'm ok :D i messaged dmr about the seatclamp thing a while ago 'cos the new dmrcolour one comes in like 30.2 or something but they said one of their guys uses that on his trailstar ok....

DMR do that size and apparently Hope are bringing one out in that size. It seems that that collar size is becoming common enough for them to do it. You mainly find that size on dirt jump/4X bikes.
