 Post subject: will this be ok?

supposed to be NIB tioga stem but has this small crack by the clamp bolt. will it be ok? the threaded section is still bonded to the clamp.

Not absolutely sure just looking at the photo; but if you are in any doubt whatsoever I would bin it. I like my teeth as I'm sure you do and the consequences of something like that failing are nasty to think about to say the least. :shock:

Are you sure it's a crack or just a scratch?

defo a crack :( doesn't open up when you tighten the clamp though...

Just because it doesn't open up is irrelevant. It has the strain at its tip which will cause it to grow. Suddenly there will be some kind of shock load and the rest won't be strong enough....bang!

Why risk it?
