What are they like? compared with the old XC hubs and the pro 2's

I've got one on the back of my Merlin s/s.

Looks a treat, makes a racket, but in a good clicky hub kind of way.

Not sure on the differences between the models, though.

I'm just looking at some too, I think that all the internals, freehub etc are the same as pro2s, but the bodies are machined more and the front hub cannot be converted to 20mm, which saves the weight. Also triple butted spokes rather than double.

Brit bling! Great set of wheels. Had some on a demobike and cant fault them.
Just waiting to get another job to buy some for the rc300 :D

I am running xtr calipers will I need to buy special width discs or can I use the hope ones

I think Pro 3s should take any 6 bolt disc, so you should be able to get Shimano to fit, the SP-XC3s are dedicated Hope 3 bolt discs only.

Of course you should only really use Hope discs with Hope hubs, its the law :wink:
