Just joined up, been checking out the site for a couple of months, been into cycling for ages started with an old 501 frammed racer back in the late 80's......had a few road bikes after that and then had a long list of MTB's over the years.

Had a break from cycling for around 4 years just got back into it, and got hold of a specialised fsr xc 09 which is a blast round the welsh trails and the mendips.......

However i needed something retro after checking this site out and bought a really old mis matched 531 framed claude butler racing bike on ebay last week, which i'm using to commute on, probably do a resto on it at some point maybe single speed it.

I'm now on the look out for a MTB project maybe and early kona, this retro thing is very addictive......and i might even try and get hold of my old riding buddies LTS frame that I know is in his shed, along with an early coyote jump frame and a set of hardly used RST hi5's...

wish me luck

hi and welcome :D i bet that fsr xc is awesome on those welsh trails, where do you ride... i've been to afan a few times as my g/f's 'rents live near-by.

retro bikes are totally addictive, keep an eye on the 'for sale' section on here, i've personally bought a bike off another member recently and i have to say it was a great experience and i am chuffed to bits with my purchase.

if you're thinking of going down the kona route then theres loads on here to take inspiration from, they are quite popular and from previous experience even the lower models command relatively high prices on ebay etc... but they are nice bikes :D

would be interested in seeing a pic of the coyote jump frame if you get your hands on it :D
