Crossed Wires ?

More precisely crossed gear cables.

I have noticed several mtb's with down tube routed gear cables having the two cables cross over. Left hand cable to right hand stop then down to left hand BB cable guide/ Right hand cable to left stop then down to right hand BB cable guide. The cables thus cross over on the down tube.

Is there any good reason for this other than its that way because ! :?

you gotta route them that way to reduce the inside bend size between bar and headtube.

yep thats it

they do ting more though because the stops are of course on a round tube so having them on opsing sides puts the centre of the cable closer to the tube
