I'm a bit confused.

I've got:

9 speed shifters, 9 speed rear mech and 8 speed cassette.

Therefore i assume the hub (deore) is 8 speed but can i wham a 9 speed cassette on there? I know i'd need a 9 speed chain for that.

thanks folks

8 & 9spd freehubs are the same size, so a 9spd cassette will fit.
