we have to get ours (UK) heads round your red and blue as they're the opposite to us! (UK: red=left, blue=right)

Lovin' what I've started here...nothing like arguing about politics or religion and then deciding to screw it all and go biking

Go here http://www.politicalcompass.org/ and take the test to find out your true political leanings. After that check out the bit further down the page where it says "region specific" and have a look at "US Presidential Election 2008"....doesn't look like Obama's a socialist to me :)

I'd post up a copy of my graph but our American buddies would probably melt just by gazing upon my "redness".

done this before, first time 4/5 years ago and I was chilling out with ghandi, second time earlier this year and i'd slid a little further to the left, still just as liberal though :)

Yeah, I seem to slip further and further into that bottom left corner every time I take the test. My GF's a postgrad doing an Msc in public policy and she's taken to calling me a "distopian"....I always thought I was an anarchist utopian, oh well

I appear to be pretty much sitting in Ghandi's lap  :)

I'll give it a year, or less, before he gets picked off by another grassy knoll, courtesy of the CiA

Good to see there is some political discussion here, I’m a bit of a local and international political geek and followed this election closely. There was a lot of interest worldwide in this election, and if you go by www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/results the world breathed a sigh of relief.

I won’t go into my politics (though it may be obvious  ) but just hope this doesn’t cause any permanent friction between members on this site, remember Retrobike is legendary for its laid back and inclusive feel.

One bike site I used to belong to had 4 topics that were forbidden to be discussed, politics, religion, helmet laws and Mac V PC. I certainly don’t want any ‘off topic ‘subjects barred, but just be careful they can really start a shitfight.

Nah, don't worry about that too much, think we're all old ( :? ) and wise ( ) enough to see things in perspective..... and all of us are Mac using non helmet wearing left wing socialist atheists...right
