Indie Critics....what do you think?

Following on from Marks thread about drum sticks......
....this is my brother-in-laws band.
The Reels, based in Cornwall and doing pretty well...whatcha think?

I can see why they're doing well and why that appeals to folks. Very 'now'.

You can certainly hear the Suede influence.

There was an Aussie band by the name of The Reels back a few years.

For some reason the tunes aren't playing from the myspace page, so I can't comment on them. :cry: The Suede thing had me right interested.

Had a listen to all the tracks on MySpace... I'm no indie kid (more of a jazz metaller), but it sounds good, deffo a Suede vibe especially on "Greeting Card" - vocals are very Brett Anderson and a bit Morrissey-esque also.
I liked it enough to listen to all the tracks on their MySpace and add them so yeh pretty good really

Yeh, I think Greeting Card is the best track from that small selection. At home we literally have dozens and dozens of recordings (some mixed by my Father in Law :shock: ) so I am rather brainwashed....good to hear what other people think.
Think they definitely have something good going on.

Not really my particular cup of tea, but they deffo have a good sound and a wee bit different to some of the other British bands doing the rounds just now. They'll appeal greatly to a couple of my mates so I'll pass along the link.
