Fees up again

I've just joined this:

http://uk.ebid.net/

but as yet it seems slow to take off. Not suprising really the way e-bay's marketed.
No selling fees, if you pay the one off joining fee. It is £49.99 but if you sell/buy a lot I suppose you'd save a lot of money, eventually :?

was just thinking that. Of all the companies likely to be hit by increased fuel and logistical costs, eBay would me well towards the lower end of the list

I've closed down my eBay shop

I was doing 200 to 300 orders a month but the fees just ripped me apart

Nice to see an alternative to ebay. I was just thinking the other day why doesn't someone else launch a web auction site, ebay have the monopoly on it. Fair enough, it's gonna be tough to compete with them but issues like this with high fees may help the competition.

ebid has been around for quite a while now. I joined a few years back as a buyer, but it just never seemed to take off so I reverted to the dreaded evilbay. I'd be interested in giving it another try if I thought there would be a good amount of stuff on there...
