Not everybodys cup of tea ...

...but some may find interesting.
One of my other "interests" is electronic music and the equipment used to make it.
As with bikes, there are people who collect, people who use and people who do both.

The Holy grail of synthesizers for many is the Roland Jupiter 8.

Roland's flagship polysynth would have set you back about £3500 new in 1982.
These days you'd be lucky to pick one up for less than £10K.

I recently came across a blog with similar (if not more) obsessive attention to detail to some of the builds on here.
check the guy's battle to achieve a perfect powder coat finish for his JP8 restoration.

Roland Jupiter 8.
A colleague of mine picked one up at a bankruptcy sale about 10 years ago. Understandably it takes pride of place in his studio.

He paid *much* less than £3500 for it, the guy running the sale didn't know what it was, other than an "old keyboard".

Some of the pro audio gear me and my pals have collected from car boots sale last 20 years is amazing , from moogs to Roland Fantoms , mixing decks and recorders
i spent ten years repairing and selling ,pro audio equipment ,
sadly the days of buying a akai mpc for a fiver have almost but gone...
