Hello again folks,

It has been a while. Lots has happened since I was last active on here. The good news is that I'm still cancer free, still in remission, the great news is that somehow I got married and became a dad.

Unfortunately, not everything has been a bed of roses. I've not really been up to riding much at all due to the effects of treatment. I've started riding with my old road club again this summer but I'm a hell of way off where I used to be.

The bad news is that I'm going to be selling off my Retro MTBs over the next few days, as a result of some of the treatment I've had, I now have osteoporosis. Hurtling around the woods on fully rigid, retro, MTBs when I don't bounce as well as I used to isn't a good idea any more.

I've got some retro road and MTB stuff going for charity on other forums, if you're interested, feel free to PM me.

Re:

Great news... selling a bunch of old tatty bikes is small price to pay for continued health I reckon!

My wife is a haematology nurse specialist, so I'm familiar with the side effects of treatment

Good to hear from you buddy!

Too small for you I think, THM.

Shhhh, what happens on the island stays on the island. If only I could chase up those hills after Tintin like I used to.

Great following the news about your shop matey.

Yeah, welcome back. I, too, am a member of the cancer club-the one that no one wants to be a member of. :) Give it awhile-it's been 8 years for me-to give the healing process time to continue, then get on with your life! A full sus bike like I ride these days is a lot easier on the old body-maybe you could try one? Best wishes on your complete recovery...Pat
