She was in a collision with a car while out on her bike and sadly died. He wasn't on the tour de France analysis today.

Re:

His tribute to his mum on twitter had the Mrs & me in tears.
Very sad.

Hit and run, they are looking for a white pick-up truck.
They are looking for witnesses to the collision, nothing in the story to suggest it was a hit and run.

The Road CC piece says it was a white L200 and was a hit and run.

Re:

Further down the piece they say the police have already spoken to the driver of the vehicle and are seeking further witnesses. Still not convinced that headline is right tbh (it's written a bit clumsily). My initial comment was based on the BBC link which had been posted where nothing was said about it being a hit and run so thought it was worth clarifying the detail as sometimes these things can be taken as fact without any basis in truth.
Regardless it's very sad news.

Re:

I find it quite irksome, how the wording of news articles skews the impression that they deliver (ie: "cyclist collided with a car" ... rather than 'A car driver smashed into a cyclist' ... )
